In Aizuwakamatsu there is a huge castle right in the middle of the city with a giant moat and huge walls. The castle was impressive and imposing, accented by the serene courtyard that surrounded it with its gnarled trees and beautiful japanese flora. Some of the trees still had a few remaining cherry blossoms clinging to their branches from when they had bloomed weeks earlier.
